Summer Is Over Already???

I will never understand how time can fly by so quickly. Summer has come and gone and the kids are growing up so fast. Here are a few things that we did this summer, in no particular order.

#1 Carson started Kindergarten!!!!!

Unfortunately on the morning of the first day of kindergarten, Carson woke up with a fever and a very painful sore throat. He had to miss the first 3 days of school because of a virus. :(

So on September 7, 2012 he attended his first day of Kindergarten at Pittsfield Elementary School with Mrs. Duman. He was SO EXCITED!!!

#2 Thunder Over Michigan

#3 Fun at Lake Tippecanoe

#4 Carson played Soccer and Tee Ball

#5 Carson learned how to Ride his Bike WITHOUT training wheels!

and last but not least...

#6 Kadence is well underway in the potty-training process and is doing such a good job. We can't wait to be completely done with diapers! :)

Kadence's 2 Year Pictures

Better late then never, at the end of April Kadence turned TWO!  Here are her 2 year stats:

Height: 36.5 inches (97%)
Weight: 25 lb. 15 oz.  (40%)
Head: 19 inches (71%)

At the age of two, Kadence LOVES babies and doggies!  She will point each and every dog out with an excited screech when we see one in public.  She loves to play with her babies, pushing them in a stroller, pretend feeding them, and putting them down for naps telling everyone, "Shhhhhhh!".

Kadence is such a sweet, loving, and easy going toddler. Our late talker is finally showing signs of improvement.  For the longest time she would (and still does) point and grunt at things she wants without trying to say the word. We often joke that Carson does all the talking for her so she doesn't need to. But she's been going to speech therapy since the beginning of March and is finally starting to repeat different vowel and consonant sounds for us. She has also learned quite an array of different signs thanks to her speech therapist, Miss Julia. Her newest word that she just picked up on is Please. She says "Peesh" in the softest, cutest little voice. I'm confident that her speech will take off soon. All things in their own good time...

Easter

Finally a post with Easter pictures. Better late then never, right?

It was a quick trip to Indiana and back but I'm so glad we were able to spend Easter at Mom and Dad's again this year. Carson (and Kadence) just LOVE playing with their cousins and a fun time was had by all!

Kadence in her new Easter outfit...

Egg hunting time...

What's inside all those eggs?!?!?!

Several of the Easter eggs had puzzle pieces inside so all the kids got busy and put it together!

Happy Easter!!!

Carson Turns 5!

Carson turned 5 last week and for his birthday, our family spent the day at an indoor waterpark called Splash Universe! He {and Kadence} had a blast! Carson absolutely loves the water and was not even afraid to go with his dad on the biggest water slide that is almost completely in the dark. He tried out every single water slide and activity they had. So much fun!

About every 5 minutes this huge bucket would fill up with water, then tip over and soak everyone!

Even little sis had a blast! There was a little water slide in the toddler pool that was just her size. She would slide down it all by herself, stand up, walk up the stairs and go down in again...over and over again!

Carson loves anything and everything Star Wars right now...Star Wars legos, movies, and light sabers. His favorite characters are R2-D2 and C3P0 so I made him an R2-D2 birthday cake. He thought it was pretty cool!

Happy Birthday Carson!!!

New Years Eve

We spent New Year's Eve at my parents' house to celebrate a late Christmas with my side of the family. This year each family was to come up with a game and a prize for the winner. Ryan and I created a Taste Test game. Each person had a to guess between things like Coke vs. Pepsi, Diet Coke vs. Diet Pepsi, bottled water vs. well water, Mt. Dew vs. Mello Yellow, etc.
Kim had the best taste buds and was the winner of the game!

Mom hosted a Price Is Right game where we had to guess the price of several kitchen items that she purchased from Meijer. I was the winner for that game. Aunt Susan and Uncle Keith hosted a gift wrap game where each couple had to wrap a Christmas present and see who could do it the fastest. The trick was that each person could only use ONE hand! Here's the presents each couple wrapped. I'd say we did a pretty good job!

Last {but most funniest}, Aunt Kim and Uncle Mike hosted a Wii Country Line dance tournament. Lots of laughs were had and Ryan ended up being the winner. He and Kim were in the final round together. Here are some pics from the game...

Getting ready to open presents!!!

Santa brought Uncle Keith a new nose...cup!

...and Aunt Susan too!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. May everyone have a happy and healthy 2012 filled with lots of wonderful memories!
