Ryan's Birthday Present

For part of Ryan's birthday present this year, I gave him a one hour flight with a friend/pilot that I met from working at the bakery.  Doug is a captain for Spirit Airlines and has flown for years. Ryan has always had a love for flying so I thought it would be the perfect gift for him.

What fun he had!  Ryan called me from the plane and informed me that they were going to fly right over our house so the kids and I ran outside and waved really big to them! Carson kept yelling, "Daddy can you hear me?!?!"

Next they flew downtown Ann Arbor, saw University of Michigan's football stadium and also LLamasoft.

From there they flew to Dexter. Here's an arial view of our future neighborhood and our new house that is under construction.

Pilot Doug and co-pilot Ryan!

There were controls on both sides of the plane and Ryan even got to control the plane by himself. What an awesome experience. Happy Birthday sweetie!!!

Carson turns 6!

Carson turned SIX this past weekend. Being the son of a baker/cake decorator has some advantages and I told Carson he could pick any kind of cake he wanted.  He chose a cherry chip Beyblade cake!

We celebrated by taking two of his friends out to Red Robin for lunch...

...and then to the Zap Zone for bumper cars and arcade games!

The kids turned in their tickets and picked out their prizes.

Prizes included eyeballs, wind up chattering teeth, lollipops, balloons, and candy!

Time to open presents!

What a fun day! Happy Birthday Carson!!

First Night in a Big Girl Bed

Kadence started off her new year in a big girl bed.  A couple weeks ago she learned that she could easily climb in and out of her crib so we new it was time to make the transition.  So on January 1, 2013 Kadence slept for the first time in her big bed.  She has done amazingly well with the transition and doesn't even try to get up after we put her to bed.

The crib is one of the last "baby items" we have left in our house.  Getting rid of her crib and baby bedding will be bittersweet but we are excited to move on to this next stage of our lives.
