Family Fun Night

On Friday night we headed to a local bowling alley for a family fun night! This was Carson's first time bowling! He was such a nut when we got there. We didn't even have our bowling shoes on and he was giggling hysterically while watching the other people bowl. One of the ladies in the lane next to us was like, "Oh my gosh! He is so adorable!" We then proceeded to explain that he was just so excited because this was his first time bowling.

It took several frames and showing him the line that we were not allowed to walk past before Carson got the hang of it. At first we were putting the ball on the ground Granny style and rolling it with him on the count of 3, but by the end, he was walking up to the line and throwing the ball all by himself. There were times the ball went so slowly that we didn't think it would make it to the pins, but it always did! Thank goodness for those bumper guards too! They not only made it more fun for Carson but helped Ryan and I's scores too! haha

It was so fun bowling with Carson last night. It made me smile ear to ear just seeing how much fun he was having. It was also great to spend some real quality family time with him too. Who knows...that might be our last Family Fun Night as a family of 3! Next thing we know, Carson will be showing his little sister how to bowl! :)

Do not cross this line!

Not bad for his first game!

Also, notice how the pregnant lady won! It's something about me being pregnant and bowling... I always have a much higher score (over 100) when I'm pregnant. It must have something to do with my big belly acting as a counter-balance. The same was true when I was pregnant with Carson. When I'm not pregnant, I just can't seem to throw a straight ball for the life of me. Thank you Kadence, for helping with my score last night!!!

37 Weeks Pregnant

Only 3 more weeks (give or take) until our family of 3 becomes a family of 4! I am now 37 weeks pregnant and the countdown is on. We are so excited to meet baby Kadence! Ryan took some pictures tonight so that can remember and cherish this special time for years to come...

We can't wait to hold and cuddle with our little baby girl!

We look forward to see Carson transition into being a Big Brother!

The crib is ready, the baby clothes are washed, the infant car seat is installed, the diapers and wipes are stocked up, and the hospital bag is packed! We are as ready as ready can be!

Happy Easter

What a gorgeous Easter we had in New Jersey! It had to be close to 80 degrees. We had a great Easter service at church that morning and then spent a fun day at the Records house. The sun was shining, the food was amazing, and Carson had a blast playing all day with his best friend Isaac, including a fun Easter Egg Hunt outside!

I just love this picture of all 3 of the boys!

Here are a couple of Carson during the Easter Egg Hunt and opening up his eggs at the end:

After playing with trains, digging in the sandbox, chasing Isaac and Ben around, and playing with sticks by the creek...Carson was exhausted by the end of the day!!! (So was the pregnant lady!) But what a fun Easter it was! Thank you Jennifer and Karl for inviting us into your home and treating us like family. :)

Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishy!!!

We had such a beautiful weekend here in New Jersey. The sun was shining and it was in the 70's! Carson grabbed his Toy Story fishing pole and we headed down the road to the quarry to go fishing! The water was very high from the last of the snow melting and the big rain we had a few days prior. The fish did not nibble at all but that was ok. We had fun anyways and it felt so good to be outside soaking up the rays!

Carson and I were under the weather last week but everyone is healthy again and the baby countdown is on! Only 35 more days (give or take) until baby Kadence is born. We are very excited and can't wait to meet her!!!

Who Wants to Build a Snowman?

We got 18+ inches of snow over the course of 2 days. It was beautiful around here! All the trees covered in white, all the huge snowflakes falling...it was definitely a winter wonderland in Hamburg, NJ!!!

Today we asked Carson if he wanted to go outside and build a snowman. Without any hesitation he said, "YES!!!" and was running downstairs to get all bundled up.

Our snowman had cookie dough truffles for eyes, a pickle for a nose, and strawberry buttons!

I can officially say, I've had enough snow for now! How many days until Spring?!?!? :)

Pregnancy Update

We are now into Week 31 so we decided to head outside to take a few maternity pictures today. Despite the thermometer saying it was 41 degrees, it was still pretty cold to be wearing a short sleeve shirt in the still snow covered outdoors...but the pictures were worth being cold for a few minutes.

This pregnancy seems to be flying by! I guess having a 3 year old to chase after all day makes the days go by in a flash!

Yesterday we were concerned with a bit of bleeding but luckily our doctor is open on Saturday mornings and got me right in. He hooked me up to a Fetal Monitor for 15 minutes and monitored the baby's heartbeat and made sure I wasn't having any early contractions. He also checked and said that my cervix was still fully closed. All good news! The day before I had gone grocery shopping, took out the trash, and did some cleaning/organizing around the house. The doctor seemed to be most worried about the fact that I still lift Carson (who is now 37 pounds) into the shopping cart. He said I probably overdid it and that a blood vessel on my placenta probably busted. So I promised the Dr. I would not lift more than 20-25 pounds for these last few weeks - which includes Carson!

Other than that, I am feeling great and my belly is growing bigger by the day! Fatigue is my biggest symptom right now but that's nothing a little afternoon nap can't take care of. :)

I am very excited (and thankful) that my mom is going to fly to NJ and stay with us for 2 weeks. It will be such a help to have her here! I can't wait!!!

Carson likes to kiss and rub my belly all the time now. It's so cute. I think he is going to be an awesome big brother! The crib is set up, the baby clothes are washed, the baby car seat is in our car, and I've began preparing meals and putting them in our deep freezer. I just loved being organized and prepared as much as we can be. Now...if we could only finalize a name for our baby girl!!!

Snow Day!

A snow storm came through today. Last time we checked, we had nine inches! Who knows how much we'll have by morning. Ryan got to stay in and work from home today so he took Carson out to play in the snow for a little bit. What fun!!!

All bundled up, ready to go!

How much snow did we get so far?!?!?

It's hard to walk in all of this snow!

My favorite pic of the day...
